MEMBERSHIP AND ATTENDANCE POLICY
In order to assist the Conductor, Membership Manager, and Section Leaders of the Clintonville Community Choir in music selection, covering of parts, maintaining an accurate roster, and targeting recruiting efforts, the following revised Membership and Attendance Policy has been adopted by the Board of Directors effective October 1, 2008.
A. A person desiring membership in the Clintonville Community Choir shall be required to complete a membership form. Exemptions are at the discretion of the Conductor.
B. A person will be considered an active member in good standing if he or
she completes a membership form and complies with the attendance
policy set forth below.
C. Active members are encouraged to pay membership dues in the amount
of twenty dollars ($20.00) for individuals or thirty dollars ($30.00) for families (two or more individuals) per Winter and Spring concert seasons and ten ($10.00) per individual for the Summer concert season. High school and college students will be exempt from paying any
membership fee.
D. A ten dollar ($10.00) refundable deposit is required for each music folder per concert season. To receive the refund, the folder and music must be returned by the end of the second week after the final concert of the season.
A. Active members are expected to attend and participate in a majority of scheduled rehearsals and performances.
B. Active members are expected to notify their respective Section Leader reasonably in advance of any anticipated absence from a scheduled rehearsal and/or performance.
C. Any member missing more than two scheduled rehearsals without prior notification to the Section Leader as set forth above, shall be contacted by the Section Leader to determine the reason for his or her absences and future interest in the choir. A member who repeatedly misses scheduled rehearsals may be placed on the inactive roster and his or her position filled by another individual.
D. Each active member wishing to participate in a scheduled performance must attend and participate in at least one of the two scheduled rehearsals immediately preceding the performance. Exemptions are at the discretion of the Conductor.
E. It is the responsibility of each Section Leader to consistently and uniformly apply each of the provisions set forth above.
A. The rehearsal year typically begins in October and runs through the following summer. Rehearsals will be held from 7:30 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. each Wednesday for the weeks prior to each concert. The schedule of rehearsals will be determined by the Board of Directors, the Artistic Director and the Conductor. Special rehearsals may be scheduled by the Artistic Director if deemed necessary by the Conductor.
B. The rehearsal year typically consists of three concert seasons:
Fall/Winter, with a concert held in December; Spring, with a concert in
March; and Summer, with a concert date to be determined per year.
